Irrigation System Installation

Our irrigation installations are designed specifically for Quebec conditions where systems must be winterized annually and handle variable municipal water pressure. The process begins with a site survey to map out lawn zones, garden beds, slopes, and shaded areas that each require different watering rates. We design multi-zone systems using Hunter or Rain Bird components, with rotor heads for large lawn areas and drip lines for garden beds and foundation plantings. Trenching is done at a minimum depth of eight inches to protect lines from surface damage, and all connections use compression fittings rated for our freeze-thaw conditions. Each zone is controlled by a smart timer that adjusts watering schedules based on weather data, reducing water consumption by up to 30 percent compared to manual watering. We install a master shut-off valve and backflow preventer at the main connection point, which is required by most Quebec municipalities. Before winter, the entire system must be blown out with compressed air to prevent frozen and cracked pipes -- we offer this as an annual fall service. Spring start-up includes a full pressure test, head adjustment, and timer reprogramming. For properties on well water, we assess flow rate and pressure to ensure the system operates efficiently without overtaxing the pump.
